About Starshine Music

Starshine Music is one the leading UK publishers of musicals and songs for children with over 9000 UK customers, and hundreds more overseas.

Starshine Music began life in 1999 with the publication of 'Miracle Child', a Christmas musical for children. The founders, Ruth and John Kenward, believe passionately that the performing arts are an essential part of a rounded education. Starshine Music is committed to writing and publishing the kind of materials that teachers and pupils can produce with confidence. Our aim is to provide schools, theatre groups and choirs with high quality musicals and songs, all of which are written and structured with ease of learning and performance in mind. The Starshine catalogue now has over 20 children's musicals and songbooks from a variety of writers, which are used throughout the UK and overseas.

All of our musicals are intended to be thought-provoking as well as fun; we feel that it is desirable for shows and songs to have depth as well as entertainment value - this leads to a satisfying experience for everyone involved. Through many of our musicals children will have opportunities to explore issues in a dramatic context which are relevant to their lives in the 21st century. (examples include - selfishness, bullying, homelessness).

The two hour version of 'Panto Pandemonium' came about as a direct result of feedback and suggestions from numerous schools and youth groups who were involved in performing the junior version of the show which was published in 2005.
